Essential Job Duties Knows and conforms to the Nurse Practice Act for the State of Texas. Utilizes a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care by performing comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, making nursing diagnoses that serve as the basis for the strategy of care, developing a plan of care based on the assessment and nursing diagnosis, implementing nursing care, and evaluating the patient\'s responses to nursing interventions. Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel that consider patient safety and are commensurate with the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and physical and emotional ability of the person to whom the assignments are made in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Implement measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others and know the rationale for and the effects of medications and treatments and correctly administer the same. Maintain required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards. Clarify any order or treatment regimen that the nurse believes to be inaccurate, non-efficacious or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when choosing not to administer a medication or treatment. Institute appropriate nursing interventions that might be required to stabilize a patient\'s condition and/or prevent complications. Qualifications
Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program No Experience Required Required License/Certifications Current RN license in the State of Texas BLS certification Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire Additional Details
