Summary / Objective The Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and assistance to patients of any age group admitted to the area employed. The RN provides direction to Licensed Vocational Nurses and non-licensed personnel in delivering direct patient care and supports medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff.
Essential Job Duties
Know and conform to the Nurse Practice Act for the State of Texas; utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, ensuring patient safety and suitability.
Implement measures to promote a safe environment, correctly administer medications and treatments, and understand their rationale and effects.
Maintain required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards.
Clarify any order or treatment regimen that is inaccurate, non-efficacious or contraindicated, consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when necessary.
Institute appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a patient’s condition and prevent complications.

Required Education And Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
No Experience Required No prior experience required beyond the educational and licensing requirements.
Required License/Certifications
