Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the main duty of the Engineer in Charge (EIC) is to ensure the safe and effective deployment of the Skycam system through sound processes and operations in both the shop and the field.

Responsibilities

Acts as on‑site manager for equipment and crew at a particular event, and a point of contact for other crews/EICs in the field.

Interfaces directly with the client, venue operator or other crew leaders to ensure safe and proper installation.

Provides guidance to and mentoring of Skycam crew.

Capable of field repairs and directing other crew members with the setup and operation of the equipment.

Works in the SkyCam Shop under direction of the CTO to adequately test, prepare, repair and maintain kit, and deploy SkyCam systems.

Provides manual labor and trade skills to include shop maintenance, organization, and system management in an industrial setting.

Familiar with the operation of all necessary tools and the various pieces and parts to assemble and rig the system.

Works under the direction of the CTO regarding the deployment of the system and the maintenance and repair of the systems.

Interfaces with CTO on matters of engineering and shop operations as they directly pertain to field operations and safety.

Trains EICs, E2s, Riggers, Pilots and Operators both on job sites and at the Fort Worth facility.

Manages and participates in site surveys.

On call for field trouble issues, coordinating with the CTO as required.

While on client job sites, responsibilities include, but not limited to: Equipment setup and operation

Crew

Interfacing with client and venue personnel

Equipment field repairs as directed by the Director of Engineering

Safe operation of equipment (weather, equipment breakdowns, etc.)

Complete Tech report for each job

Report and directly communicate all equipment issues and recommendations to the CTO

Provide updates to site surveys as needed

When not in the field/off‑site, the EIC supports operations in the shop and reports to the Fort Worth facility. Typical tasks may include general maintenance, testing and system prep. Other duties might include R&D, design etc. as assigned.

Participates in various meetings, as required, such as staff, operational and organizational meetings.

Participate on client based conference calls.

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum: As the face of Skycam in the field, must have the ability to manage through complex situations in a professional manner.

Strong organizational and multi‑tasking skills with a strong work ethic.

Skilled in the use of computers.

Electrically and mechanically inclined, proficient with hand tools and electrical test equipment.

Strong attention to detail.

Possesses good analytical and creative skills.

Strong communications skills and eagerness to collaborate with different people.

Comfort with working in a rapidly changing environment and open to new ideas.

Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Extensive domestic and international travel; must possess or be able to obtain US Passport.

High school diploma required.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred: Generally requires a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in media, broadcasting, production industry. Proficient in the use of MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.

Bachelor’s degree (AS or Technical School acceptable).

Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
