Diesel/Industrial Vehicle Mechanic | Port of Charleston – TICO (Terminal Investment Corporation) Join to apply for the Diesel/Industrial Vehicle Mechanic | Port of Charleston role at TICO (Terminal Investment Corporation). TICO is hiring Diesel/Industrial Vehicle Mechanics, all skill levels / all shifts at our site in Charleston, S.C. This position is typically an 8-hour shift, with occasional overtime. Great pay and benefits, sign on bonus, and room for growth. 95% of our fleet are trucks we build at our plant in Ridgeland, S.C. They all have the same power package and driveline. They are mirror images of each other, making it easier for a mechanic to become proficient. We can train the right candidate. Responsibilities
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, A/C, steering, cooling, DEF, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Ability to utilize computer software diagnostic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs. Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs. Performs maintenance related work as required. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
2+ years of experience in heavy truck repair, heavy/medium duty or farm equipment repair, forklift or construction equipment repair, or automotive maintenance and repair Completion of a diesel or automotive tech program (preferred) Good attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic Must maintain your own tool set (company provided tool program available) Benefits
