Base pay range : $20.00/hr - $24.00/hr
Details Department: Finance / Accounting
Employment Type: Temporary (3 months)
Duration: Now through March (with possible extension)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Position Summary The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist will support the Finance team by managing routine AR functions and ensuring accurate, timely processing of receivables. This temporary role will primarily serve as a backfill for our regular AR team member while internal resources focus on ERP implementation. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process and post customer payments (ACH, checks, credit cards, wire transfers)
Apply cash accurately and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments
Generate and send customer invoices and statements as needed
Monitor accounts for past-due balances and support collections follow-up
Respond to customer billing inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger
Maintain accurate customer records and documentation
Support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable
Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to ensure continuity during ERP implementation
Document processes and flag issues or inconsistencies as they arise
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable working with accounting/ERP systems (experience with ERP transitions a plus)
Proficient in Excel and basic accounting tools
Ability to manage routine tasks independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and customer service skills
Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or e-commerce environments
Prior experience supporting teams during system implementations or process transitions
Familiarity with high-volume AR or multiple customer accounts
