Overview
Intake Coordinator – Patient Services Call Center at Aurora Behavioral Health System – East Campus (Tempe, AZ). This 138-bed free-standing psychiatric inpatient hospital with outpatient programs is seeking experienced Intake Coordinators to support our Patient Services Call Center Department. The facility serves adolescents and adults with a wide range of psychiatric and chemical dependency needs. This position is for overnight shifts. As an Intake Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking behavioral health services. You will gather essential information, coordinate assessments, and ensure callers are connected to the most appropriate level of care or community resource. This role is ideal for candidates who are compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced call-center environment within a behavioral health setting. Responsibilities
Handle all general inquiry calls from potential patients, families, and referral sources. Schedule assessments for both the Tempe and Glendale Aurora Behavioral Health locations. Collect detailed information to complete intake forms and determine the appropriate level of care. Provide referrals to community resources when needed. Serve as a liaison for hospital referrals transferring to inpatient behavioral health treatment. Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and other disciplines to coordinate patient care. Maintain or obtain Suicide Intervention Skills certification (e.g., ASIST). Requirements
High school diploma required; Bachelors degree in social work or counseling preferred. An ideal candidate is working toward professional licensure. Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria, community resources, crisis intervention, and assessment. Experience in behavioral health, call centers, or crisis work is a plus. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a background check, drug screen, and meet fingerprint clearance requirements. Schedule
Saturday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (12-hour shifts). Benefits
