Facilities Maintenance Technician – CL (Open Until Filled)
City of Portland – Full‑time, full‑time regular. Supports Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) and Bureau of Environmental Services (BES). Variable shifts, sometimes Saturday.
Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, service, and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Check equipment for glitches and inconsistencies.
Repair defective components to avoid operational delays.
Install and assemble new machines.
Respond to work orders and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Ensure operational efficiency, safety, and comfort in diverse environments.
Qualifications
Knowledge of building/facility automated control systems and components.
Experience performing building maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance inspections.
Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
Experience managing facility maintenance hazards and safety precautions, including OSHA standards.
LME electrical license (or higher Oregon electrical license) and valid state driver’s license.
Refrigerant 608, Class 3 boilers, backflow/ cross connection, confined space entry, brazing certifications are advantageous.
