Laboratory Salary Range:
$20.00 – $33.72 per hour We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Phlebotomist/Lab Technician to join our laboratory team. The technician demonstrates care and compassion to all patients and visitors, provides courteous and professional assistance to other staff members and physicians, performs venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently, performs arterial punctures once properly licensed, documents specimen collection and tests ordered in the LIS, has thorough knowledge of test requirements, processes specimens for in‑house and send‑out testing, assists with clerical duties as needed, and helps ensure an orderly and sanitary environment in the laboratory. Responsibilities Properly identify patients before specimen collection. Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks using proper technique. Label and handle specimens correctly throughout the testing process. Follow all specimen collection protocols and test requirements. Communicate urgent or unusual findings to laboratory scientists. Process specimens efficiently for both in‑house and send‑out testing. Use EMR and LIS systems to manage orders and documentation. Prioritize tasks to ensure timely turnaround of urgent results. Support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts. Assist with clerical duties and maintain lab cleanliness. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) license required. CPT II license required within one year of employment (training provided). New graduates are welcome to apply. Proficient in English (verbal and written). Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. Basic computer skills required.
