What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Investigate account balances and causes for non-payment, initiating claim adjustments, and resubmitting clean claims
Complete appeals within established time frames to avoid write-offs
Identify root causes of denials and create solutions to prevent future occurrences
Assist patients with billing, service, and insurance inquiries via phone and electronic communication
Document encounters and actions in appropriate systems, ensuring compliance with policies and HIPAA regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one (1) year of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle-related function, or
Associate's degree in a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle-related function, or
High School diploma/GED plus five (5) years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle-related or bookkeeping function
Familiarity with a Windows environment and ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents
Detail-oriented with basic mathematical skills
