Job Summary The Department of Allergy and Immunology for Adults offers consultative services for diagnosis, evaluation, and management of diseases of the respiratory tract, immune system, and allergies. The multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses provides patient management, family education, and support services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Interview patients and families
Perform complete physical examination
Order appropriate diagnostic studies, diets, and nursing monitoring and intervention
Recognize clinical problems and formulate logical diagnoses
Evaluate and manage adult/pediatric allergy and immunologic conditions which may pose threat of death, organ or system failure, irreversible damage, or loss of permanent impairment
Evaluate and manage allergy and immunologic diseases
Interpret diagnostic laboratory studies
Perform allergy testing (percutaneous, stinging insect antigens, intradermals, etc.)
Administer immunizations
Conduct ingestion challenge testing
Provide inhalation therapy
Apply local and topical anesthesia
Hours Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Clinical Rotation Support the North Region clinics.
Education Graduate of an approved training program in the United States.
License and Certification Board Certified and/or Board Eligible.
Licensed in the State of Texas.
