Responsibilities
Maintain all equipment to company standards.
Perform basic truck maintenance including refueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
Control inventory on the service truck and keep vehicles properly stocked.
Report to the Service Manager and receive daily assignments.
Stay available for after‑hours service calls and maintain an open work schedule.
Manage and inventory the tools required for diesel engine maintenance.
Read job orders and determine malfunctions through observation and diagnostics.
Use diagnostic equipment to identify and repair issues.
Diagnose, remove, and replace components such as injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other parts.
Perform all diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
Inspect protective guards, bolts, and safety devices, making adjustments as needed.
Lubricate moving parts and verify repaired vehicle conforms to specifications.
Carry out preventative maintenance as requested.
Submit required documentation promptly.
Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
Advise customers and service writers of upcoming repairs or services.
Participate in training and apply the knowledge to work.

Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
Current CDL preferred but not required.
Medical card as required by FMVS.
Mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
Certifications in Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and ASE preferred and rewarded.
