Overview
Caron Scientific is expanding our West Coast commercial team and seeking an experienced Life Science Capital Equipment Sales professional to lead growth across the Northern California and Pacific Northwest territory. This is a field-based, quota-carrying capital equipment sales role. Caron Scientific is a respected leader in controlled-environment technology with strong credibility across biotech, pharma R&D, CROs, and academic research labs. About the Role This field-based role focuses on selling environmental chambers, incubators, and controlled-environment solutions to a broad range of scientific, R&D, and product development environments, including but not limited to: Biotechnology and biopharma companies Cell and gene therapy organizations Pharmaceutical R&D groups CROs and industrial scientific markets Academic research institutions and core facilities Clinical and translational research labs Cosmetics and personal care product development labs Food & beverage testing, R&D, and product development labs This is a strategic, revenue-driving role with full ownership of the NorCal & Seattle-region territory, responsible for new business development, territory expansion, and ongoing account management. Candidates must reside in Northern California or the Seattle metropolitan area. What You Will Do Drive new business development and expand Caron’s presence across the Bay Area, Sacramento region, and Seattle biotech corridor Penetrate and grow key accounts across biotech, pharma, CROs, academia, and research institutions Present and position Caron’s controlled-environment solutions with an emphasis on cell culture, stability, incubation, and environmental control applications Maintain disciplined pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and CRM data integrity Deliver compelling product demonstrations, technical presentations, seminars, and on-site meetings Support regional tradeshows, workshops, sales events, and scientific conferences Provide customer training and ongoing relationship management Identify opportunities for application automation and multi-instrument solutions Achieve or exceed assigned revenue, margin, and unit targets Who You Are (Ideal Profile) You are an experienced capital equipment seller who excels in scientific environments, understands R&D workflows, and brings strong technical, strategic, and relationship skills. You’re driven, self-directed, and energized by building a territory. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience Demonstrated success selling capital equipment Experience selling into research or laboratory environments Strong ability to prospect, negotiate, and close complex, multi-step sales Solid technical aptitude and experience with consultative/solution selling Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Ability to travel up to 70% Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (or equivalent industry experience) Preferred Experience Experience with environmental chambers, incubators, lab instrumentation, or lab automation Understanding of cell culture workflows, research applications, or controlled-environment processes Knowledge of academic research, biotech R&D workflows, or pharmaceutical development environments Seniority level
