Overview
Geo-Spatial Engineer. Serve as a Geospatial Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the JC3-Functional Defeat (FD) Branch, responsible for the development of virtual and physics-based 3D models to support mission planning and minimizing collateral damage effects. You will be responsible for reviewing multiple intelligence sources to recreate surface and sub-surface structures in a virtual environment, which will be used as a part of larger 3D representations, or to calculate and predict blast effects. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional results, and we're looking for a highly skilled and experienced SME to join our team.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Geospatial Engineer, this position will be responsible for:
Recreating real-world structures in a high-fidelity virtual environment to support mission planning and collateral effects assessments.
Utilizing imagery analysis skills to determine the construction and design of surface and sub-surface structures.
Utilizing GIS skills to transform vector and raster data into desired formats, combining them into larger datasets, and presenting them in a 3D environment.
Collaborating with cross-function teams to develop plans and products.
Providing technical guidance and expertise to junior team members and stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
Pre deployable physical required
10% time spent TDY
Must be able to travel state side and international for mission requirements
Required short notice recall
Desired Skills
Physics Modeling Skills (IMEA/UTAS):
Proficient in creating accurate building models derived from multiple intelligence sources.
Able to apply weaponeering solutions to developed models.
Capable of explaining predictive modeling results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Visual Modeling Skills (SketchUp):
Create accurate, detailed 3D models of buildings, structures, and site layouts using Trimble SketchUp.
Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, floor layouts, and imagery to generate precise 3D representations.
Imagery Analysis Skills (SocetGXP):
Review historical imagery to identify design and layout of buildings and structures
Mensurate objects on imagery to accurately recreate in a 3D environment.
GIS Skills (ArcGIS Pro and TerraExplorer):
Familiarly with vector and raster formats.
Ability to convert vector and raster data to desired formats and map projections.
Import and symbolize traditional GIS data and 3D content into a TerraExplorer project.
Build and maintain interactive fly-through presentations in TerraExplorer.
