POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and HR systems. This role plays a key part in improving efficiency by
automating HR processes , optimizing workflows, and leveraging HR technology to enhance accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.
Human Resources Operations
Administer core HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, performance processes, and policy administration
Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and systems
Support employee relations matters, escalating complex issues as appropriate
Payroll & Compensation
Process payroll accurately and on time, including regular, bonus, and off-cycle payrolls
Maintain payroll records, timekeeping data, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Partner with Finance and external payroll vendors to resolve discrepancies and audits
Support compensation changes, deductions, garnishments, and benefits-related payroll inputs
Process Automation & HR Systems
Identify opportunities to
automate and streamline HR processes
(e.g., onboarding, payroll workflows, reporting, data entry)
Maintain and optimize HRIS, payroll systems, and time-tracking tools
Develop standardized workflows, templates, and documentation to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks
Create and maintain HR dashboards and reports using automated tools where possible
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with labor laws, payroll regulations, and internal policies
Assist with audits, regulatory reporting, and data requests
Maintain accurate employee records in accordance with data privacy requirements
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
Assist with job postings, candidate coordination, and onboarding activities
Ensure onboarding processes are efficient, automated where possible, and compliant
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
2+ years of HR Generalist experience, including
hands-on payroll processing
Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems
Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and HR compliance
Demonstrated experience improving or automating administrative processes
Skills & Competencies
Payroll accuracy and attention to detail
Process improvement and automation mindset
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, HRIS platforms, and payroll software
Preferred
Experience implementing or optimizing HR or payroll systems
Familiarity with automation tools, workflows, or reporting dashboards
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar)
