Job Summary The Corporate & Community Engagement Relationship Manager (Business) acts as an account manager who proactively engages with employers to maximize career outcomes for students across the University.
This role is housed in the U Career Success office, supporting students at the University of Utah with the tools, resources, and support necessary to make informed career decisions, develop essential skills, and successfully transition into the workplace.
Relationship Managers create and strengthen key partnerships with local, regional, national, and global high‑value employers, develop and execute long‑term plans to increase employer‑student involvement, and collaborate with the coaching team and university departments to attract well‑matched applicants to career opportunities.
Acting as an extension of company recruiting teams, the Relationship Manager devises creative, business‑savvy approaches to align student talent with organizational needs, offers insight into labor market and industry trends, and works to expand awareness of employer brands, jobs, and internships at the University.

Responsibilities
Execute professional corporate outreach to local, regional, national, and global businesses, focusing on long‑term, value‑driven partnerships.
Develop job and internship opportunities for students while designing unique, results‑oriented engagement programs for employer partners.
Collaborate closely with corporate outreach staff, career coaches, university stakeholders—including those in business‑related academic units—and relevant marketing, data, programming, and event staff.
Lead new business development activities, leveraging a strong understanding of employer needs and talent pipelines.
Effectively manage an extensive portfolio of employers, including high‑touch and high‑stakes accounts requiring strategic relationship management.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education may be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Four to six years of progressively more responsible experience.
Background knowledge in business and related industries to analyze, plan, and draw conclusions for recommendations to team members.
Demonstrated leadership, planning, and collaboration skills to contribute effectively to the smooth operation of the team.
Completion of provided training within one year of employment may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong customer service and consultative relationship‑building skills.
Exceptional organizational skills related to account management.
Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to take ownership of client‑driven projects and consider the business needs of multiple stakeholders.
Ability to work well collaboratively and autonomously.
Interest in acting as a connector across university and industry initiatives.
Salesforce or CRM experience is desired.
Background or education in business or a related field is helpful.
Work Environment Nearly continuously: Office environment.
Physical Requirements Nearly continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (e.g., typing), walking.
