Airport Operations Officer position available with the City of Fort Worth Aviation Dept. at Meacham International Airport. The CFW Aviation system includes Meacham International, Spinks, and Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport, offering regional aviation services and cargo carrier services. The Department supports economic activity in the DFW Metroplex. Pay range: $47,632 – $59,539 annually. Location operates 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overnights as needed. Responsibilities

Ensure airport safety and security while providing excellent customer service.

Act as first responder to airport emergencies and coordinate with all involved agencies.

Monitor and evaluate day‑to‑day airside and landside operations to ensure compliance with lease provisions, policies, procedures, and governing regulations.

Conduct day and night inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable FAA and TxDOT regulations.

Check airport facilities for repair and maintenance.

Interpret rules, regulations, policies and procedures to lessees and tenants.

Recommend necessary equipment and material purchases.

Analyze specific operational problem areas as assigned by the Airport Manager or Airport Operations Supervisor.

Research and compile data to make recommendations for alternative operating methods or procedures.

Monitor construction projects for airport safety and governmental compliance.

Notify tenants and/or outside agencies of impending construction.

Revise and update Airport Certification Manuals and Airport Emergency Plans.

Ensure proper recording of all documentation and the airport’s 100 % compliance with FAA record‑keeping requirements.

Complete Full Movement Area Certification within six weeks of hire date.

Working Conditions and Physical Demand

Position requires touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions.

Medium work: may require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently or constant, and moving objects.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Aviation Management or related field.

Successful completion of Airport Operations Officer training within the initial six‑month probationary period.

Valid driver’s license at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of airfield management experience.

Bachelor’s degree and pilot’s license.

Completed internship related to Aviation Management.
