Job Details We are seeking an experienced Permanent Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual with a solid background in safety management, particularly in the utility and construction sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the company's safety programs and initiatives in compliance with DOT, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of safety protocols and programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, ensuring that all safety measures are properly implemented and maintained.

Organize and conduct safety training sessions and workshops for employees, ensuring that they are aware of safety regulations and procedures.

Prepare comprehensive reports on safety‑related incidents and issues, providing recommendations for improvement.

Collaborate with management and staff to foster a safety‑conscious environment.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current regulations and best practices in safety management, ensuring that the company's safety policies and procedures are updated accordingly.

Develop and implement emergency response plans, coordinating drills and training to ensure preparedness.

Liaise with regulatory bodies such as DOT and OSHA, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations.

Investigate accidents and incidents to identify their causes and to find ways to prevent them in the future.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in safety coordination or a similar role within the utility or construction industry.

In‑depth knowledge of DOT requirements, state regulations, local regulations, and workplace safety.

Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and initiatives.

Excellent understanding of safety protocols and procedures in the construction industry.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.

Ability to conduct detailed inspections and to identify potential safety hazards.

Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions to safety‑related issues.

Proficiency in using safety management software and other relevant computer applications.

Relevant certifications in safety management or a related field would be an advantage.
