Overview
Sales Manager, Pets - KY / Eastern TN at Boehringer Ingelheim. This role is the first line manager of Sales Representatives within an assigned geography, responsible for leading and motivating Representatives to accomplish the sales and planned objectives of the District within allocated resources, policy, and law. Responsible for achieving specified District sales objectives. Establishes a plan for using all allocated resources to accomplish the sales and planned objectives of the District within budget. Analyze, evaluate and interpret reports to determine if resources are being used effectively and re-direct resources to maximize sales as conditions warrant. Make changes in personnel assignments and territory configurations to optimize sales results. Coordinate a Field Implementation Plan using computer resources to ensure a balanced marketing effort in the District. Recruit, select, develop and maintain an increasingly competent team of Representatives with assigned District. Develop via goal setting, training opportunities, coaching, and quarterly performance evaluations while travelling with the representative; recommend merit increases and promotions when appropriate. Develop and execute Business Plans with trading partners within the District and coordinate with Director, Sales Agent Business Planning. Analyze changing markets in the District and implement marketing plans through Representatives to achieve operating results and seize market opportunities. Maintain accurate, concise, and timely communications; prepare written recommendations to maximize future sales results. Develop and nurture key contacts with Professional, University and Agricultural Industry Leaders to positively impact operating results. Adhere to Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health standards and goals regarding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). Complete Compliance Modules annually and conduct business in accordance with regulations (EEO, FDA, OSHA, etc.). Report violations to management and maintain high ethical standards. Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred. 7–10 years of sales and/or related experience in the animal health/related industry. Strong leadership and coaching skills to maximize district performance. Good judgment and decision-making skills balancing results with ethical conduct. Thorough technical/customer/market knowledge, excellent presentation skills, and ability to analyze diverse data to develop tactical action steps. Consistent top-quartile performance across large and small animal business units. Ability to manage and lead a sales force; deploy resources to achieve financial and business objectives. Travel required (may include overnight travel); reside in the geography or be willing to relocate. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; authorization to drive a Company leased vehicle or approved rental vehicle. Eligibility
