Job Overview This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cabling systems in an outdoor, aviation environment. Duties include stringing and securing cables on poles, inspecting lines for wear, splicing and terminating fiber, and testing signal integrity while following strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Install and secure new fiber optic cables on poles, ensuring proper tension and support.
Inspect, re‑tension, and repair cables to prevent service interruptions.
Splice and terminate fiber sections using specialized tools.
Perform signal integrity tests and verify compliance with standards.
Adhere to strict safety protocols during all activities.
Qualifications
Knowledge of fiber optic cable installation, splicing, and testing equipment.
Physical fitness to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather.
Experience working safely at heights (aerial lifts/bucket trucks).
Excellent attention to detail for handling delicate fiber cable work.
Ability to collaborate within a crew under supervision.
