Responsibilities:
Assist the PT in following safety standards established for the physical therapy department.
Follow established departmental policies and procedures, including an appropriate dress code.
Be alert for resident safety during all therapy.
Comply with the facility’s established safety precautions.
Assist in using safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving residents.
Assist in ensuring physical therapy practices and procedures comply with current applicable regulations.
Follow infection control procedures and standard/universal precautions when performing duties.
Assist in ensuring the safety and comfort of the resident while going to and from the therapy room or area.
Ensure the therapy area is maintained in a clean and safe manner, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available.
Follow reporting procedures when observing hazardous conditions or equipment.
Wear personal protective clothing when performing services that involve potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
Report missing and illegible labels or SDSs to your supervisor.
Qualifications:
Unencumbered license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey.
