Overview St. Joseph’s Health is a leading provider of progressive, quality patient care across three hospitals in New Jersey. This system is a two‑time Magnet‑designated health system with a Level II Trauma Center (including a Level III NICU) and verified by the American College of Surgeons. The Critical Care Faculty member will serve as one of three clinical specialists on the hospital‑based clinical pharmacy team, which also includes a Clinical Pharmacy Manager, nine clinicians in Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, Emergency Medicine, Behavioral Health, and Cardiology, and four PGY1 pharmacy residents.
Pharmacy services are delivered throughout the institution in both inpatient and outpatient settings via centralized and decentralized operations using an integrated EMR and automation. The faculty member will focus practice as a member of the multidisciplinary team, maintain an active role on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and participate in the education of medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff (including pharmacy residents), protocol and guideline development, and Code Blue response.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical pharmacy services in a critical care setting.
Serve on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Educate medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, including pharmacy residents.
Develop and review protocols, guidelines, and policies.
Participate in Code Blue response.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to improve patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
At least two years of residency training or equivalent experience.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey.
Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS) or other relevant board certification is expected within two years of hire.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience in critical care, hospital pharmacy, or related specialty preferred.
