We have a mission that matters!**Description of Work**This Correction Enterprise Supervisor II (CES II) position is located at the Correction Enterprise Sign Plant in Bunn, NC.

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise, train, and evaluate employees and inmate workers engaged in the production of different types of signs used to mark the highways and streets in North Carolina. This position supervises a variety of technical processes that must meet specific specifications and warranty requirements of NC DOT and the Federal Highway Administration.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Supervises two subordinate staff and approximately 30 offenders

- Communicates with NC DOT concerning layout drawings that contain defects

- Schedules work production and prepares numerous reports necessary to achieve accurate financial statements

- Prepares a variety of written reports concerning raw material inventory

- Conducts visual and audio surveillance of plant operations to ensure the custody and security of inmates and facility

- Assists plant management in other work assignments as needed

Work is in an environment which may involve exposure to noise, dust, fumes, dangerous machinery, chemicals, body fluids, and falling objects. This may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, protective clothing, etc.

The successful candidate must complete and pass COBT to become certified within one year of being hired. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:** Training and supervision of subordinate staff* Knowledge and operation of various types of manufacturing equipment* Experience operating medium/heavy machinery (i.e. forklift)* Custody, supervision, safety and training of offenders.**Necessary Special Qualifications:**Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
