Overview
Position: Dialysis Technician Instructor (Adjunct). Medical Training Institute of New York is recruiting an experienced adjunct faculty member for the Hemodialysis/Dialysis Technician Program. This part-time teaching position begins immediately and includes classroom, online, and laboratory instruction. Candidates should be committed to the Mission and Values of the Medical Training Institute of New York. Job Type: Part-time Experience: Prior experience in Hemodialysis/Dialysis Practice and teaching in a classroom or synchronous environment is required. Compensation: Rate $24-$28 Per Hour Location: New York, NY area
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Nurse Program Director, the Hemodialysis/Dialysis Technician Instructor will teach the didactic and clinical components of a curriculum designed to help students build knowledge and clinical skills, enabling students to become employed as successful Hemodialysis/Dialysis Technicians and to prepare for the national competency exam.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instructional delivery including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks such as reports, syllabus, and lesson plan development. Prepare and maintain current course syllabi for the courses taught. Ensure courses are taught under the established syllabi. Recommend and/or approve adequate instructional materials for the course. Recommend adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for the assigned course. Supervise students.
Minimum Qualifications
Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT or CCHT–A) or Registered Nurse with CDN, CNN, or Nurse Practitioner with CNN-NP or Licensed Practical Nurse with CD-LPN or RN with related certification/experience. Certified Hemodialysis Technician. Teaching experience.
Education
Bachelor's (Preferred). Associate degree with two (2) years of experience in the discipline with one (1) year of experience in an acute dialysis center (inpatient or outpatient setting) required.
Licensure/Certification
CCHT/CHT Certification by nationally recognized agencies (NNCC or BONENT) is required. Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
Qualifications
Experience in Hemodialysis/Dialysis Practice and instruction preferred. Strong communication skills and commitment to student training.
