Inventory Control Specialist
to join our team in Knightdale, NC. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting supply chain operations, and ensuring smooth production and shipping processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, audits, and verifications. Identify and investigate discrepancies quickly, double-checking data, counts, and documentation to prevent errors. Follow established procedures consistently while seeking opportunities to streamline and improve inventory control processes. Communicate clearly and professionally with purchasing, warehousing, production, and leadership teams regarding shortages, discrepancies, and process updates. Take ownership of inventory accuracy and complete assigned tasks reliably and on time. Identify root causes of inventory issues such as receiving errors, mis-picks, and vendor mistakes, and implement preventive measures. Utilize ERP/WMS systems, scanners, reporting tools, and dashboards effectively to manage inventory data. Maintain organized and systematic physical inventory areas to support data accuracy. Handle sensitive and high-value inventory with integrity, following controls to prevent loss or shrinkage. Adapt to last-minute changes, urgent orders, and shifting priorities while maintaining composure under pressure. Understand the broader supply chain impact of inventory accuracy on purchasing, production, shipping, and customer satisfaction. Proactively suggest improvements and track KPIs to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Required Skills & Qualifications
Highly Detail-Oriented: Notices discrepancies quickly and understands the impact of small errors on downstream processes. Strong Analytical Skills: Comfortable interpreting reports, trends, and root causes to make data-driven decisions. Process-Driven Mindset: Consistently follows procedures and looks for ways to standardize and improve processes. Excellent Communication: Effectively communicates inventory issues and collaborates with cross-functional teams. Accountability & Reliability: Takes ownership of accuracy and consistently meets deadlines. Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Identifies root causes and implements preventive solutions. Comfortable With Technology: Proficient in ERP/WMS systems and related inventory management tools. Organized & Systematic: Maintains tidy, logical inventory areas and plans cycle counts methodically. Integrity & Trustworthiness: Handles sensitive data honestly and follows loss prevention controls. Adaptability: Manages shifting priorities and high-pressure situations calmly.
