North Hill Needham Inc. Pay Range: $20.00/hr – $20.00/hr per hour. Real pay depends on skills and experience.
Position Summary For over 40 years, North Hill, a not‑for‑profit senior living community in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. The Dining Partner is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving food for various events at a set venue or multiple locations within our Enhanced Living and Skilled Nursing facilities.
Shifts 10:30am-7:00pm including weekends and every other holiday.
Job Specific Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Assists with food preparation, delivery, and clean‑up
Follows production sheet to ensure required quantities of foods have been prepared
Assists with utility work as needed, including but not limited to dishwashing, trash disposal, and general kitchen sanitation
Uses appropriate checklists and logs, procures necessary food and supplies for delivery to the designated houses
Checks food temperatures as required and records findings on checklist provided
Brings food to designated locations at assigned times and retrieves serving dishes and any other related equipment after completion of the meal
Ensures food arrives in an attractive and palatable manner
Assists with filling household dietary staples
Ensures equipment is maintained in a sanitary manner and follows directions for the dish machine
Completes refrigerator inspections to ensure food is dated, labeled, and temperatures recorded
Supports the dining team in maintaining a clean work area including worktables, steam tables, refrigerators and freezers
Responds to Resident requests for support and use communication systems appropriately
Responds to Resident emergencies appropriately
Participates in household meetings
Reports hazardous conditions, equipment, and incidents to the supervisor
Ensures that department is kept neat, clean and safe and necessary equipment and supplies are maintained
Monitors the cleanliness and sanitation of each household kitchen and ensures it is in line with Department of Public Health and local Health Department requirements
Provides caring, thoughtful and engaging service at all times
Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor
Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
Attends and participates in in‑service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
2 years of dining experience in a senior care facility is preferred
