Overview As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will lead all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring guests have an outstanding experience and staff remain passionate and productive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit.
Cultivates a culture in accordance with Flynn’s core values: Care, Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One.
Responds immediately to verbal guest complaints and corrects them with staff.
Prioritizes guest contact with completion of required table visits established by Flynn standards.
Maintains departmental inventory levels and product preparation standards by performing line checks.
Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands and controls departmental costs.
Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, sanitation and safety programs.
Participates in the development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation.
Monitors employee performance, documents situations requiring disciplinary action and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork and drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories.
Maintains Health Department and Flynn standards for sanitation and safety.
Provides a role model for managers and employees and develops self on all store related technology.
Willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed.
Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.
Education and Experience
At least 2–3 years restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Compensation Applebee’s® Assistant Managers earn $18.53 to $21 per hour, which is approximately $53,000 to $60,060 annually based on a 50‑hour work week. Potential for monthly bonus, where applicable by location. Competitive wages, Profit Sharing/Bonus, Medical/Dental/Vision, 401(k) with match, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Leave.
Physical Standards
Work various shifts ranging in hours, including weekends.
Stand and exert well‑paced mobility for up to ten hours in length.
Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds in weight.
Read and write to facilitate communication; must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
Travel and Equipment No travel is required. The Assistant Manager will use standard restaurant POS, mobile phone and tablets. The assistant manager will use the management development program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.
