Sunstates Security is currently hiring
Flex Security Officers
for the Port Clinton, OH area to work on‑call/as needed. All shifts and days are available. This position offers a pay rate of $20.00/hr with weekly pay.
Benefits:
All qualifying candidates are eligible for a 401(k) with employer match (up to 8%) for those who work 20 hours a week (minimum of 500 hours per year) and have completed six months of service.
Requirements
Must have reliable transportation.
One year of experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
Exceptional report writing skills.
Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure.
Able to work independently.
Read and understand written instruction and communicate information and ideas in a clear and concise written form.
Flex Officer Explanation The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The Flex Officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers while protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations The Scheduling Parameters and Expectations for a Flex Officer differ from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. A Flex Officer will:
Be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need, with assignments lasting for several weeks at a time.
Have a schedule that varies based on operational need.
Be assigned to, or offered, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Have some shifts scheduled in advance while others may be called to cover last‑minute absences.
Be expected to work any scheduled shift within the availability described on this sheet and communicate any unavailability promptly.
For short‑notice call‑ins, be expected to work at least 80% of the shifts called. Refusal of more than 20% of called shifts may negatively impact employment status.
Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent.
