Research Data Associate – NYU Langone Health NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Healthy Brain Aging and Sleep Center seeks a per‑diem Research Data Associate to support ongoing clinical and translational studies, including the ESSENTIAL Trial and Alzheimer’s disease biomarker projects.

Position Summary The successful candidate will assist with specimen handling, freezer and inventory maintenance, sample shipment coordination, participant screening, and general laboratory and study support under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and senior research staff.

Job Responsibilities

Assist with biospecimen management, including receipt, labeling, processing, aliquoting, and temporary storage of blood and other biological samples according to established SOPs.

Perform routine freezer maintenance, temperature monitoring, and organization of sample inventories across 20 °C and –80 °C.

Coordinate shipments of biospecimens to collaborating centers and data coordinating sites participating in the ESSENTIAL Trial, ensuring proper packaging, documentation, and chain‑of‑custody compliance.

Conduct and document participant screening calls, including verifying eligibility criteria, scheduling visits, and following approved study scripts.

Support clinical and laboratory operations, including preparing supplies, maintaining logs, and assisting with documentation for IRB‑approved studies.

Provide general support to senior research staff for day‑to‑day study coordination, data entry, and communication with collaborating sites.

Adhere to all NYU Langone Health and IRB policies regarding human subjects research, biospecimen handling, and data confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent with at least one year of related experience.

Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in science, public health, health education, or related field.

Prior experience in a healthcare setting or research laboratory.

Experience in patient education and interview coordination.

Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
