Description Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a

Project Manager / Client Account Manager

for our Jackson, MS office to provide quality planning, designing and technical overview to assist in delivering project, within budgetary and time constraints.

The Project Manager / Client Account Manager leads the successful delivery of municipal, county, and state government projects from initiation through closeout. This role serves as the primary client contact while managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and multidisciplinary teams. The position balances project execution, client relationship management, and business development for projects up to $1M in revenue.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include Project Management & Delivery

Plan and deliver engineering and planning projects from notice to proceed through completion.

Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk mitigation strategies.

Monitor project performance, financial metrics, and client satisfaction.

Ensure compliance with contracts, regulations, design standards, and company procedures.

Coordinate subconsultants, utilities, and external stakeholders.

Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Client Account Management

Serve as the primary client liaison and maintain trusted client relationships.

Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to clients and internal leadership.

Administer contracts, including amendments, invoicing, reporting, and closeout.

Identify opportunities to expand services and support client growth strategies.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, and technical staff.

Coordinate with discipline leaders and support staff to execute projects and proposals.

Provide feedback on team performance and project delivery.

Business Development & Strategic Support

Support proposal development, scope definition, and fee estimation.

Represent the firm at client meetings, public meetings, and industry events.

Contribute to strategic planning and market growth initiatives.

What you'll need Required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years managing public-sector engineering or planning projects.

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing budgets, schedules, and risk.

Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.

Preferred

PMP, PE, AICP, or similar certification.

Experience with infrastructure, transportation, water, stormwater, or planning projects.

Knowledge of public-sector contracting, funding, and regulatory requirements.
