Medical Assistant for (DOT Physicals Atlanta) Job Title: Trained Drug & Alcohol Collector with Medical Assistant Experience

Location: 3181 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy NW Suite B, Atlanta, GA 30318 (On Site)

Job Type: Full-time (9am‑5pm, Monday‑Friday)

Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour (Candidates with valid Georgia Medical Assistant Certification and ≥1 year experience in an Urgent Care/Occupational Health Facility: $18‑$20 per hour)

Schedule: 8‑hour shift, 9am‑5pm, Monday‑Friday.

Responsibilities

Perform drug and alcohol testing according to DOT and non‑DOT standards, including urine, breath alcohol, saliva, and hair tests.

Administer occupational health services such as urinalysis, audiograms, vision exams, and spirometry.

Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting of test results.

Provide administrative and clinical support as a Medical Assistant when necessary, including patient intake, basic vital checks, and record‑keeping.

Maintain the confidentiality of patient information and ensure secure handling of specimens.

Follow strict protocols to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company standards.

Assist in maintaining inventory of testing supplies and keep testing areas clean and properly equipped.

Interact professionally with clients, patients, and team members, delivering high‑quality customer service.

S/J Scheduling appointments, taking payments, batching at the end of the day.

Participate in daily morning huddles with Dr. and end‑of‑day reporting.

Perform clinical intake with patients, recording vital signs and patient history.

Complete patient referrals and callbacks daily.

Prepare rooms according to protocol, clean exam/procedure rooms and equipment between visits.

Provide complete EMR and paper‑based documentation for all assessments and procedures.

Manage inventory of supplies, restock exam/procedure rooms, and maintain clinical supplies.

Call local businesses to expand clinic relationships (bonuses available for this task).

Requirements

Certification or training in drug and alcohol testing (DOT certification preferred).

Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with current certification or relevant experience.

Strong knowledge of occupational health practices and protocols.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

High attention to detail and ability to follow strict testing procedures.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in occupational health, DOT testing, or a similar healthcare setting.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and testing software.
