Department Overview The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Glaucoma division to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
Position Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, research, and education, primarily in our new OSU multi-specialty medical office buildings and surgical suites in the metro Columbus area. Participation in coverage at Columbus, VA, is also required.
Duties and Responsibilities The Division Director and/or Department Chair is responsible for determining the work assignments. Each faculty member is expected to perform the full range of responsibilities in the areas of teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Clinical services are a component of your faculty responsibility, with or without the presence of a trainee.
Service commitments will include clinical service at the OSUWMC facilities and other clinical sites as assigned. Active participation in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions is expected. Participation in local, regional, or national professional organizations is also expected.
Requirements
Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment and be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
Qualified candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology.
Subspecialty training in a Glaucoma fellowship is required.
Due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. citizenship is required for participation in this role.
Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Glaucoma.
Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications.
Commitment to resident, fellow, and medical student education is required.
