Physician - Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Retina Division (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Position Type: Full‑time – Regular, First Shift. Location: Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center).

Department & Division The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking a clinician or clinician‑scientist faculty member for the Medical Retina practice within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. The role is open‑rank and can follow an academic track appropriate to the candidate’s experience.

Position Overview The successful applicant will provide patient care, conduct research, and contribute to education in a newly developed, multi‑specialty medical office building and surgical suites. Coverage at the Columbus Veterans Affairs facility is required. The position will involve teaching, scholarship, and service activities aligned with the department’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide clinical care in ophthalmology, specifically in medical retina.

Conduct research and pursue scholarship consistent with the faculty assignment.

Engage in teaching and education of residents, fellows, and medical students.

Participate in departmental, college, and other committee functions.

Active involvement in relevant professional organizations.

Maintain clinical service at OSU Wexner Medical Center and other assigned sites.

Requirements

MD or DO degree with completion of an approved Ophthalmology residency.

Board–eligible or board‑certified in Ophthalmology and eligible for licensure in Ohio.

Subspecialty fellowship in retina.

U.S. citizenship required for participation with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Demonstrated research record and publication history.

Commitment to resident, fellow, and medical student education.

Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience.
