What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Develop, improve, and maintain all aspects of the employer's Global Trade Compliance programs for imports/exports in the US and Canada
Manage regional import/export activities, including HS classifications, tariff monitoring, and customs declarations
Collaborate with various teams to implement GTC policies and resolve customs matters
Conduct internal/external audits and communicate with government officials regarding compliance
Represent GTC in strategic projects, advising on strategy and managing execution for operational efficiency
What is Required (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the industry
8+ years of experience in import/export global trade compliance
Deep understanding of WTO, WCO, US, and Canada legal frameworks and customs valuation
Proven ability to manage external audits and effectively communicate with government officials
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Active US Customs License
Good understanding of import/export laws and regulations in countries outside the US and Canada, particularly in Asia Pacific
Experience in setting up global trade compliance policies and procedures
Proactive and solutions‑oriented mindset with a continuous improvement mentalityAbility to create and maintain strong working relationships with diverse teams
