Position Summary The Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of dump trucks, roll-offs, and other heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in precision, efficiency, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and major repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.
Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and manuals.
Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles meet DOT safety and compliance standards.
Maintain accurate service and repair records.
Work with operations to minimize downtime and prioritize repairs.
Perform welding or fabrication work as needed.
Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic (heavy-duty truck experience required).
Strong knowledge of engines (Cummins, Detroit, Caterpillar, etc.) and hydraulic systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
CDL or ability to obtain one preferred.
Welding and fabrication skills a plus. xsgimln
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
