Job Summary
The College of Fine Arts (CFA) Associate Director of Student Services is responsible for planning and executing strategic efforts to improve CFA student services, including student recruitment, leadership, belonging, curricular navigation, internships and industry partnerships, career preparation, degree completion, and alumni engagement.
Responsibilities
Lead CFA Student Services
Serve as the Dean’s delegate for student services needs
Serve on the CFA Executive Committee and Dean’s Cabinet
Collaborate and meet regularly with the assigned Directors of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, Director of Advising and Academic Advisors
Process student petitions
Ensure CFA students have access to proactive student support services, including:
Supervise CFA Administrative Assistant, CFA Internship Coordinator, and CFA interns/work study employees
Coordinate staffing and supplies for campus‑wide events related to recruitment, admissions, transfer success, and belonging
Direct the CFA Create Success Initiative and assist students with admissions, registrar, income accounting, financial aid, and referrals to campus partners when necessary
Administer CFA scholarship and fellowship process
Coordinate communication/marketing to promote CFA student services, including Navigate campaigns, marketing and communication requests, and special initiatives (i.e., Activate)
Support CFA development efforts aligned with student services efforts
Serve as the CFA Student Data Analyst
In partnership with the CFA academic units and University Enrollment Management, anticipate student data needs related to recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, persistence, curricular navigation, and graduation
Develop and assess effective mechanisms for student data collection and dissemination to CFA leadership, academic advising, and career coaching
Provide training for the effective use and analysis of student data
Coordinate post‑graduate alumni tracking with the CFA academic units and U Career Success on the university graduation survey (First Destination)
Serve at the CFA liaison with UAIR
Administer CFA student leadership programs: ArtsForce, FAF Grant, & EE Jones Fine Arts House
Serve as the advisor to the College Student Council
Oversee ArtsForce programming
Advise FAF Grants representatives and administer the annual FAF Grants funding process in alignment with university policies
Coordinate with Student Leadership & Involvement Office to ensure CFA student organizations are properly categorized
Coordinate EE Jones Fine Arts House student selection process
Participate in Housing & Residential Education and resident advisor meetings
Coordinate arts programming for EE Jones Fine Arts House residents
Prepare and disseminate an annual report of CFA student leadership programs
Oversee the student services planning and budget
Participate in annual CFA budget planning and Academic Enterprise Planning
Forecast annual budget needs to implement CFA student services efforts
Maintain budget records and submit reports as needed
Represent CFA on campus committees

Housing & Residential Education
Additional committees as needed
Work Environment and Level of Frequency Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences Master’s degree in Business Administration, or related area preferred.
