Responsibilities

Providing sophisticated legal advice and comprehensive regulatory guidance to senior risk managers and business representatives across Citi's Equities Cash and Derivatives businesses.

Offering expert counsel on equity cash trading, equity derivatives, margin loans, and fund financing products.

Applying deep expertise in securities laws, broker‑dealer regulations, swaps regulations, margin requirements, security interests, and insolvency law to ensure compliant and strategic business operations.

Skillfully negotiating, drafting, and analyzing complex transaction agreements, ensuring robust legal frameworks for our client engagements.

Facilitating seamless coordination with diverse internal groups within our large, complex organization, as well as engaging effectively with external parties.

Articulating highly complex legal and regulatory concepts with clarity and precision, both orally and in writing, to a variety of stakeholders.

Cultivating a collaborative and proactive mindset, working closely with business partners to anticipate challenges and drive solutions.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5–10 years of progressive legal experience, ideally within a major banking/financial institution or a leading law firm specializing in financial services.

Comprehensive familiarity with both the financial and operational aspects of equity cash trading and derivatives markets.

In‑depth knowledge of U.S. financial laws and industry practices relevant to equities, cash, and derivatives.

Demonstrated superior analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Consistently exhibiting clear, concise, and impactful written and verbal communication abilities.

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) : A law degree from an accredited institution.

Bar Admission:

Active membership and good standing with a State Bar to practice law.

Compensation and Benefits Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $211,280.00 – $316,920.00. In addition to salary, Citi may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
