Summary:

The Field Service Technician II will assist senior Field Service Technicians and lead junior technicians in operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventive and corrective maintenance of on‑site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.

Requirements:

Takes direction from senior site personnel.

Sets positive example for junior technicians.

Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.

Troubleshoots low voltage and medium voltage AC power systems.

Conducts preventive maintenance on AC and DC power systems.

Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.

Uses hand tools effectively and appropriately.

Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumables.

Assists in development of site operating plans.

Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.

Adheres to proper Lock‑out‑tag‑out (LOTO) practices and procedures.

Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).

Interfaces with project subcontractors.

Represents RES in professional manner.

Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.

Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.

Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Participates in rotating on‑call schedule for emergency response.

Presents, supports, and leads‑by‑example with a safety and quality‑oriented attitude.

Safety:

Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.

Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.

Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.

Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.

Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.

Receives job and task specific training prior to work commencing.

Qualifications:

Highschool Diploma/GED required.

3+ years of related electrical maintenance experience required.

Valid Driver’s License required.

Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on‑site responsibilities.

Associate’s degree in technical field preferred.

OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.

FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot certification preferred.

Basic Knowledge of

High voltage electrical power systems

Intermediate Knowledge of

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Low voltage and medium voltage electrical power systems

Drawings

Circuit theory

OSHA regulations

Equipment operation (skid‑steer, forklift, etc)

Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation

Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)

ANSI/NETA MTS

SCADA systems

Advanced Knowledge of

Hand tools

Anticipated base salary range: $28.09 - $35.11

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
