PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Daily Productivity

Adheres to Red Gold policies, rules, and regulations, including GMPs and safety at all times

Keeps the various lines producing at predetermined rates, achieving performance goals

Acts as relief for all positions within the flex room

Responsible for monitoring, record keeping, and taking appropriate action for specified Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan, and prerequisite program requirements

Troubleshoots and creates solutions for issues within the flex room

Completes roll changes and bag changes on fillers

Loads fiber and glue for box forming machines

Operates case check scale

Maintains Kanban cabinet and 5S requirements

Maintains clean work area

Acts as a team player in flex room and other departments

Participates in Continuous Improvement teams and activities throughout the plant

Line Start-Ups/Shutdowns

Completes shut down on all flexible packaging lines weekly including:

Winpak portion pack fillers – tear down/disassemble for CIP

Cryovac pouch filler – tear down/disassemble for CIP

Production Prep/Changeover

Verifies current production run totals meet expectations of production schedule

Ensures materials are prepared for day's production schedule including: Body fiber – body wraps, end panels, front film, back film, bags

Case code – correct case code in Marsh printer and Domino printer

Coordinates with maintenance to complete changeovers on flex room machines: Winpak fillers from 9 gm to 7 gm

Winpak fillers from 500-count to 1000-count

BNB filler from Scholle bag to Probe bag to Regular bag

Cryovac filler from 1 gallon pouch to 1.5 gallon bag with fitment

Moen box former

Moen case sealer

Completes product changeover process on various supplying process systems

Preps film and arbor rolls for roll changes

Quality

Completes weight checks on flexible packaging filler lines (documents weight data in computer, adjusts equipment to meet required weight guidelines, verifies case weight and adjusts fill levels as necessary to meet requirements)

Verifies quality of packets by comparing to quality guidelines in Quality Packet Guide (making adjustments to meet requirements)

Completes case quality checks as required

Maintenance

Performs preventative maintenance including: Changes tape of Cryovac and Winpak fillers

Greases all fillers

Oils pistons on Winpak and various items on BNB filler

Cleans fill tubes on Winpak and Cryovac filler

Sanitizes and cleans heads on BND and BNB fillers

Verifies air pressures on all fillers

Communicates effectively with maintenance group to address/resolve issues

Sanitation

Completes sterilization on fillers including: 12-hour sterilization on Cryovac

Weekly sterilization on Winpak fillers

Heads on BNB and BND as required

Maintaining full sterilization tanks on BND filler

Sanitizing bags on BND filler

Verifying sterilization temperatures meet requirements during system changes and start-ups

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Must be able to successfully use basic math and writing skills to complete required paperwork

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in situations involving changing conditions

Good communication skills (especially with management)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to climb up and down stairs frequently

Must be able to ambulate hands and fingers to operate electric switches

Must be able to handle up to 80 pounds (wood pallets)

Must be able to work at any station on the line for periods of 15-30 minutes

Able to work 45-60 hours per week with occasional overtime to cover for absenteeism and Fresh Pack requirements

Must be able to work in hot environment in the summer months
