The Village of Waunakee (population 16,387) is seeking a Senior Services Director to oversee the daily operations of the Senior Services Department and support the programs and the people who make it a vital part of our community. This role manages case management, nutrition services, contracts and reporting, budgets, and staff.

The Senior Services Director position reports directly to the Village Administrator and is a hands‑on leadership position for someone who is organized, approachable, and committed to serving older adults. The Director supports staff through day‑to‑day challenges, helps evaluate and develop programs that reflect the changing needs of our community, and builds strong relationships with local organizations, partners, and, of course, the community's seniors. About the Senior Services Department and Senior Center The Senior Services Department provides services to older adults in the Villages of Waunakee and Dane and the Townships of Dane, Springfield, Westport, and Vienna. We strive to provide advocacy, programs and services that assist seniors to maintain their dignity and remain independent in their own homes and communities. Our case managers currently serve over 300 clients.

Senior Services also fosters social, physical and emotional well‑being, through the facilitation and provision of educational and support services, intergenerational, recreational, cultural and volunteer opportunities. All services provided are supplemented by the dedicated work of numerous volunteers.

Manage the Dane County Department of Human Services contract as it pertains to Case Management Services ensuring all program requirements are met. This includes submitting the signed contract, the expense report and personnel schedule, a quarterly expense report and monthly 610 reports all by required deadlines.

Provide the municipalities who contract with the Village of Waunakee for Case Management services quarterly reports, budgeting and true‑up information in a timely manner. Be available to respond to any questions these municipalities have regarding services provided or the budget.

Advise, assist, and support the Case Managers with challenging client situations.

Manage the Dane County Department of Human Services contract as it pertains to the Nutrition Program. This includes submitting the signed contract, expense report and personnel schedule, and quarterly expense reports, all by the required deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.

Experience in supervising staff.

Experience working with older adults.

Experience putting together budgets.

Understands the role of municipal government.

Must be able to obtain training and certification for First Aid, CPR and AED operation.

Salary/Salary Range The salary range is $87,838.40 to $112,465.60 (authorized hiring range of $87,838.40 to $101,878.40) with excellent benefits. The Village offers health, life, ICI, and dental insurance, participation in WI Retirement System, twelve paid holidays, paid parental leave, and generous paid sick and vacation leaves.
