Amcor is a global leader in packaging solutions. We are seeking a Material Handler to support the Print Team by ensuring efficient movement and storage of materials, maintaining quality and safety standards, and contributing to plant efficiency.
Responsibilities
Move materials to and from storage areas to manufacturing areas
Identify and label materials, record location to ensure accurate inventory
Palletize and record finished goods and prepare for warehouse or shipping
Operate metal detector and conveyor system
Plan ahead and stock printing production floor with materials to keep presses running
Operate electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack
Use the rail system and update the computer to supply presses with correct molded stock
Housekeeping (sweep replenish area, keep underneath rail clear, etc.)
Read and understand travelers to ensure the correct molded product is supplied to printing presses
Communicate with techs and group leader about molded product needed
Work with QC on incorrectly labeled product or labels that do not read (scanners)
Other duties as assigned by shift supervisor or group leader
Know the Quality Policy and apply it to working practices
Work in a team environment and help others as needed
Lift and pull up to 35 lbs.
Qualifications
Ability to calculate parts requirements
Strong organizational skills with ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to stand/walk for 8‑9 consecutive hours
Ability to read, write and record in quality and production records
Ability to use hands to grasp, grip and manipulate boxes and product to inspect and pack
Ability to work with and around heavy machinery and equipment
Minimal lifting capabilities of 35 lbs.
Education and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands Stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 35 lbs.; may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch; push 15‑35‑lb boxes; exposure to moving parts, heat, electrical shock, loud noise, wet conditions, fumes, chemicals, outside weather.
Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, loud noise, wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather.
Job Details
Starting Pay: $19.00/hr (plus $2.00/hr Shift Differential)
Job Type: Full‑time
8‑Hour Swing Shift 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM Mon‑Fri
May require some weekend overtime
