This position is responsible for park maintenance and repair duties.
Under supervision, performs routine building maintenance and repair tasks of park system; including carpentry, electrical, masonry, mechanical, plumbing, and other work. Maintains and repairs park buildings, facilities, and infrastructure including benches and fences; participates in event set‑up and breakdown; operates and performs minor maintenance on a variety of equipment, tools, and machinery used to care for and maintain facilities; performs custodial, bathroom cleaning, trash management and other related maintenance duties as required.
Work hours: M-F 7am - 3:30 pm plus mandatory and voluntary overtime; this is an essential personnel position.
REQUIREMENTS
AGE: minimum of 18 years of age
LICENSE: Appointees must possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one (1) year experience in building maintenance work involving a variety of trades.
EDUCATION: Graduation from high school, vocational high school, or possession of an approved high school equivalency certificate.
PREFERRED: Related course work, certification or degrees from an accredited trades school, college or university in one of the following trades: carpentry, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
