Job Summary The Certified Nurses Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living for our 40-bed skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs and weights, assisting with dressing, grooming, oral care, answering signal lights promptly, assisting with meal times, etc.
Essential Job Duties
Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, exercising, and ambulating.
Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
Reports and records residents’ vital signs and weight.
Reports all significant changes in residents’ condition to nurse immediately. Document in clinical record in POC.
Answers signal lights promptly.
Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Successful completion of a State approved nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with State of Connecticut registry required.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
Ability to legibly track and document care given to each resident.

All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility. Some of the roles in our community also require that we ask about your vaccination status.
