The
PCBA Production/Secondary Operations Lead
position is responsible for supervising production employees within their assigned area while performing the work required for specific specialized assignments. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Functions
Provide employee coaching and development within department to IPC-A-610 standards.
Assign and oversee the following work daily for direct reports.
Populate printed circuit boards with thru‑hole or secondary operation components.
Programming and Testing of printed computer boards.
Solder thru‑hole components per IPC-A-610 class 2 and 3 standards as needed.
Depanelize printed circuit boards.
Trimming, clipping, tinning of wires and leads.
Prep raw components for secondary operations.
Washing of finished printed circuit board assemblies.
Properly label or mark circuit boards.
Package and box assemblies as required for shipping.
Glue, epoxy and mask circuit boards.
Conformal coat circuit boards.
Operate PCBA Manufacturing Equipment.
Move and manage flow of product through the various secondary operations processes.
Transfer and complete routing operations in ERP software.
Review and disposition nonconforming product and determine appropriate resolution.
Work toward continuous improvement of assigned area.
Attend and report at daily production meeting.
Follow internal assembly process documentation ensuring product meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Inspection of soldered thru‑hole components.
Final inspection of thru‑hole and surface mount components.
Ensure team members are logging their time in ERP system.
Work with other leads and managers to ensure good work flow through the company.
Random in‑process inspection to ensure quality product is being produced.
Guide and manage a team of employees daily, overseeing day‑to‑day scheduling, workflow management, and ensuring daily goals and on‑time delivery are achieved while maintaining high quality and safety.
Establish clear performance goals and objectives for the team.
Assess team performance, giving feedback as well as disciplinary actions as needed.
Log and track daily output and key metrics for the area you are assigned.
Ensure machine PM's are done regularly and on schedule by operators.

Supervisory Responsibility As a Lead, this position oversees all employees in their assigned area, which may include thru‑hole, wave, packaging and box build areas and is responsible for the performance management within their department.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, use fine hand motor skills/dexterity, use repetitive motions, and lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
Knowledge of electronic components and equipment.
Ability to perform surface mount component soldering on printed circuit boards to IPC standards.
Experience inspecting thru‑hole and surface mount components on printed circuit board assemblies to IPC‑A-610 standards.
Basic computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office.
Experience and ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Prior experience in a leadership role.
