Enrollment Advisor – Open Rank University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Hybrid work schedule

The CU College of Nursing is seeking a full‑time (1.0 FTE) Open Rank Enrollment Advisor. The role advises and counsels students on admissions, academic requirements, and related matters. The advisor supports positive relationships across college and university departments, external institutions, and student pipelines, attending events and engaging students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities Student Engagement (50%)

Advise and counsel students by explaining College of Nursing policies and procedures for admission, academic requirements, credit acceptance for all academic programs, academic program offerings, and professional curriculum, and refer to Program Directors as needed. Suggest alternatives for consideration based on individual educational preparation and career goals.

Advise current and prospective students. Refer to campus resources as needed.

Represent the College of Nursing at selected career fairs, high school/college programs, and campus open houses. Actively recruit and inform students of opportunities facing the nursing profession and how the College of Nursing can help them achieve their educational and career goals.

Oversee open‑house informational sessions for potential applicants to all programs and support admitted‑student orientation programs.

Assist in the development of recruitment strategies, especially for underrepresented and underserved populations, and participate in targeted and broad recruitment activities. Recruitment strategies must be linked to the strategic goals of the College and Student Affairs office and the mission to improve and strengthen student diversity.

Academic Services Support (30%)

Recommend revisions and assist with the development of brochures, promotional materials, advertising, and other recruitment and marketing materials. These recommendations and revisions will be based on experience with student inquiries and understanding of what information is/is not needed in these materials to most effectively meet prospective and current student needs.

Visit designated campuses on a periodic basis to advise and counsel prospective students and faculty regarding academic degree requirements of the nursing programs. Update faculty at pipeline institutions about curricular, prerequisite, admissions cycle, or relevant changes so they can inform prospective students.

Coordinate event logistics such as development of the agenda, confirmation of speakers, written notification to students and faculty, scheduling facilities, preparation of materials used in the event, etc. Maintain a database of attendees, review sheets, and required student forms.

Manage and oversee activities and events for prospective and current students, which include logistical support for information sessions, receptions, special events, and other student‑related functions.

Student Support (20%)

Ensure all degree requirements are met at the time of graduation.

Work closely with faculty and administration to identify issues and solutions for students.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Entry Level

A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Intermediate Level

A bachelor's degree in an accredited related field.

One (1) year of professional‑level experience with supporting, recruiting, and advising students at the undergraduate, professional, and/or graduate levels.

Senior Level

A bachelor's degree in an accredited related field.

Two (2) years of professional‑level experience with supporting, recruiting, and advising students at the undergraduate, professional, and/or graduate levels.

Conditions of Employment

Must be willing to work nights and weekends, depending on admissions and student affairs needs and schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large event organization and planning.

Experience in working with students, faculty, and other campus departments.

Master's degree in an accredited related field.

Experience working with student admission within an Academic Medical Center or similar institution.

Experience presenting information to customers in fast‑paced, in‑person settings (e.g., recruitment fairs).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Outstanding customer service skills.

Entry Level: $37,440 to $43,402

Intermediate Level: $40,369 to $47,231

Senior Level: $43,642 to $51,061
