It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.**Description of Work**The primary purpose of this position is to review and track safety events involving residents in the facility. The Risk Specialist reviews and tracks Event Reports and Intensive Reviews, ensuring appropriate follow-up, review, and closure of safety events in the patient safety data system (RL6) and the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The Risk Specialist prepares reports for the Event Review Committee and makes recommendations to the Director of Quality Improvement regarding the need for Root Cause Analyses. This role also coordinates and operates the video camera surveillance program and supports consistent implementation of policies by providing interpretation, feedback, and staff guidance. Additionally, the Risk Specialist conducts record and EHR audits, completes other audits assigned by the Director of QI, and consults with management regarding active treatment across the facility.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**## Recruitment Range: $58,613.00 - $102,574.00Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm prior to the closing date.*Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.**The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
