Cross Country Search is representing a well-established hospital system in the Oklahoma City area seeking Registered Nurses to join a Medicine Specialty Step-Down unit on a part-time, day-shift basis. This is a direct-hire, permanent opportunity offering strong clinical exposure, competitive specialty pay, and long-term career growth.
This 31-bed step-down unit supports patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing care. Nurses manage complex medical conditions and multiple IV drips in a collaborative, team-based environment designed to strengthen critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
What You’ll Do
Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity medical step-down patients
Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes
Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and specialty drips
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge needs
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Unit Highlights
31-bed medicine specialty step-down unit
Exposure to insulin, heparin, ketamine, and cardiac drips
Patient populations include renal failure, liver disease, sepsis, respiratory failure, diabetes, and other complex conditions
Collaborative, team-based care model
RN Levels & Experience
RN 1: 0–3 years of RN experience
RN 2: 3–5 years of RN experience
RN 3: 5+ years of RN experience (specialty certification preferred)
Qualifications
Active Oklahoma or Compact RN license
BLS certification required
ASN or BSN required (BSN required for RN 3; MSN preferred)
Acute-care or step-down experience preferred
