Position Summary
Assists pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions, provides customer service at the pharmacy counter, and handles prescription retrieval and payment transactions. Manages inventory, ordering, stocking, and record-keeping tasks through a computerized system.
Essential Functions and Tasks
Assists customer at counter, receives written prescriptions for pharmacists, and retrieves filled prescriptions.
Rings up orders.
Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges.
Provides prompt and courteous customer service.
Answers phones and directs customers to product locations.
Assists pharmacists in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to the extent allowable by state law.
Preserves patient confidentiality.
Assists pharmacist in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, restocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct supervision to the extent allowable by state law.
Follows safety and security procedures.
Prepares third‑party insurance claims, processes invoices, and makes accounting entries using a computerized system.
Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies; follows product storage procedures and standards.
Creates product signs.
Cleans the department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting; empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler.
Non‑Essential Functions and Tasks
Assists with front‑end duties as necessary.
Assists in other departments of the store as necessary.
Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.

Working Environment Work is performed in a store setting with frequent phone communications and computer usage requiring strength, dexterity, coordination, and visual acuity. Tasks include continuous standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds below waist, up to 50 pounds at waist/chest, and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
