Registered Nurse (RN II) - Lactation Consultant - Full-Time Day Shift

Work hours: Full-Time (36 Hours) - Day Shift -4/8 hour shifts from 6:45am - 4:15pm
Department highlights:
14 bed Obstetrics / Gynecology / Antepartum Unit
12 bed Mother/Baby and Maternal/Newborn Unit
9 bed LDR, 3 OR suites, 4 bed OB ED unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
Level II NICU
Couplet care and Level III Maternal Designation
Self-Scheduling
OB Hospitalist onsite 24 hours
Certification rate over 50%
Nursing Clinical Ladder participation rate over 50%
Excellent teamwork
Here’s What You Need
Associate's Degree Nursing required; BSN preferred
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire required
IBCLC - Lactation Consultant 2 years required
1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program, or a THR residency program required
What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Functions as an expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff, and physicians.
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
