Direct Support Specialist (DSP)
to join our Bethesda Homes team in Frankenmuth. In this role, you’ll support adults with developmental disabilities by helping them maintain independence, safety and quality of life in a supportive residential environment. You’ll be part of a small, engaged team committed to person-centered care. Responsibilities
Provides daily care and activities with dignity and respect that are aligned with the ISP to maximize and enhance the quality of their daily living on task by task support that individuals' personal goals and quality of life Provides personal care such as administering prescriptions, bathing, dressing, bathroom assistance or housekeeping Prepare and serve meals in accordance with individual diets and preferences Schedule and take individuals to medical appointments, outings, or errands. Ensures reporting, care and record keeping is maintained that is aligned with medical orders, state compliance requirements, abuse reporting, court orders and Wellspring quality and internal procedures and guidelines Ensures care and residence is fully compliance with all safety protocol Provide wound care as needed Participate by providing insight into daily activities and interest of an individual in the development and updating of individual support plans. Purchase food and supplies as instructed by the Manager. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment always in the Residence. Maintain a master calendar of appointments, facility activities, meetings for Residence. Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities (preferred) Experience providing in-home care or personal care support (preferred) CNA licensure (preferred) Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation (required) Reliable, compassionate and committed to quality care Ability to maintain documentation, follow safety protocols and support individuals with dignity and respect Schedule and Compensation
