Description
General Definition: The Entry Clerk will call trainers in the morning to inform them of upcoming races and make entries. Essential Job Functions:
Dependability, good attendance, and occasional overtime required. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled. Have the ability to accomplish a multitude of duties as assigned. Adhere to company standards of performance and safety; follow company policies and procedures. Receive instructions from the Racing Secretary detailing the number and types of races to occur in the upcoming weeks. Make calls to trainers to take entries to fill races. Document horses entering. Print out results of each race day ("overnight") and distribute to appropriate departments. Assist Racing Secretary with ad-hoc projects. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 years related experience and/or training; or combination. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be knowledgeable of the Rules of Racing. Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Responsible for being gracious to all guests and co-workers. Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures that behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards. Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment Excellent customer service/communication skills Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy. Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Training:
Responsible Gaming Licenses/Certifications/Other:
Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions Texas Racing Commission License (TXRC) Physical Requirements:
